White & Case advises Hartree Partners on acquisition of debt and agreement to acquire ED&F Man Commodities' business units

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Hartree Partners, a global energy and commodities trading company, on its acquisition of the majority of ED&F Man’s outstanding A2 and B1 senior secured legacy debt and the acquisition of ED&F Man Commodities’ three business units Volcafe (coffee), ED&F Man Liquid Products (molasses, animal feeds and fish oil) and ED&F Man Sugar.

Hartree Partners, LP is a leading global merchant commodities firm specializing in energy and associated industries. It was established more than 25 years ago and is jointly owned by senior management and funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P.

ED&F Man Commodities is one of the world’s leading providers of soft commodities and logistics including sugar, coffee, molasses, animal feeds and fish oil. ED&F Man was originally founded in 1783, and has since grown into a leading global trader of agricultural commodities product.
