Our pro bono and volunteering work play important roles in our Responsible Business function. In 2023, lawyers in all our offices and in every practice devoted more than 105,000 hours to pro bono matters.

Pro bono in Hong Kong
Lawyers from every office and practice participate in pro bono work; last year, we dedicated more than 122,000 hours to pro bono legal services.
Trainees in our Hong Kong office have unparalleled opportunities to participate in cutting-edge pro bono work on the issues that matter to you.
Recent Hong Kong pro bono matters include:
- Karen Leung Foundation, an NGO that is devoted to women's gynecological cancers in Hong Kong through raising awareness, prevention and care & support
- InspiringHK Sports Foundation, an NGO that supports underprivileged students in Hong Kong through sports
- Justice Centre, an NGO dedicated to provide assistance to refugees, asylum seekers, victims of torture, victims of human trafficking and victims of forced labor
- Teen's Key, an NGO that focuses on addressing the sexual and reproductive health of young women and providing holistic treatment for young women in crisis, including pregnant teens, young mothers and female sex workers
- Redress, an environmental NGO working to reduce waste in the fashion industry
Volunteering & charitable giving
Our Hong Kong office takes part in many different volunteering and charitable giving activities. There's something for everyone. Recent highlights include:
- A Kindness Walk with ImpactHK where we distributed food and necessities to people experiencing homelessness and learned more about the homeless situation in Hong Kong
- A beach clean-up with Plastic Ocean Foundation where we also learned about the extent of plastic pollution in our oceans
- A meal distribution initiative with Banyan Service Association where we gave out meal boxes to elderly people in Hong Kong
- A recycling and plastic sorting workshop with V-Cycle where we also learned how to improve recycling habits, the recycling process and support the elderly carboard collectors employed by V-Cycle
- A social inclusion workshop with The Rock Foundation where we connect with young students through book sharing and interactive activities
