White & Case secures dismissal for Autoliv in €770 million UK Competition Appeal Tribunal auto parts cartel claim

Global law firm White & Case LLP has successfully represented Autoliv Inc. in securing the dismissal of a €770 million auto parts cartel damages claim brought in the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal by car manufacturers within the Stellantis group.
On February 21, 2025, the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal issued its judgment dismissing entirely Stellantis' damages claim against Autoliv. Autoliv was the only defendant group remaining in the proceedings, after all other defendants had settled. In a unanimous decision, the Tribunal held that Stellantis had failed to prove the infringement and overcharge it alleged. The judgment follows the conclusion in October 2024 of a five-week trial.
The White & Case team which represented Autoliv included partners Tilman Kuhn (Düsseldorf, Brussels), Raif Hassan and Charles Balmain (both London) and associates Marlin Heitmann and Ellen Campbell (both London).
