Biography

Overview

Chris advises global corporate clients, fast growth companies, sovereign wealth funds and investors in connection with cross-border mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, convertible financings and carveouts in a variety of industries such as life sciences, robotics, consumer discretionary and blockchain technologies.

Prior to joining the Firm, Chris gathered valuable experience in the Firm's M&A practice as well as at corporate practices at other leading global and Singaporean law firms. He studied law at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom and holds a master's degree in law and finance from the Institute for Law and Finance at the Goethe Universität Frankfurt.

Advised ABB, a global leader in smart buildings technology and solutions, in connection with several transactions, including its:

  • carve-out of Accelleron Industries (formerly known as ABB Turbocharging), a global leader in turbocharging technologies, in preparation for listing on SIX Swiss Exchange;
  • acquisition of Dublin-headquartered Cylon Controls Limited, which provides building automation and HVAC control solutions through its operations in China, Germany, Ireland, the UK and the US;
  • acquisition of the PowerTech Converter business, a leading supplier of auxiliary power converters and aftermarket services for the railway industry

Advised Mercedes-Benz AG on its acquisition of YASA Ltd., a British electric motors manufacturer for use in automotive and industrial applications

Advised Argus Media on its acquisition of Mercaris Corporation, a leading provider of sustainable agriculture prices and analytics in the US.

Advised Galaxy Digital Capital Management, a global investment management company focused on digital assets, in various investments in emerging growth companies

Advised SoftBank Vision Fund II on its investment as lead investor in the US$25 million Series B equity financing round of Apollo Agriculture, a Kenya-based agricultural technology company focused on using artificial intelligence to empower small-scale farmers in Kenya and Zambia to farm more sustainably and profitably

Advised Lightrock, a global private equity platform investing in sustainable businesses, in its investment as lead investor in the US$58.5 million Series C equity financing round of AiDash, an enterprise SaaS company making critical infrastructure climate resilient and sustainable with satellites and artificial intelligence
