White & Case advises on sale of KaDeWe to Thai Central Group

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised The KaDeWe Group GmbH, the operator of three German luxury department stores, on its self-administration proceedings, including insolvency and reorganization law, employment and tenancy law, and on the sale of the business operations to Thai Central Group.

At the reporting meeting at the Berlin-Charlottenburg Local Court, the voting insolvency creditors of the KaDeWe Group confirmed the composition of the creditors' committee and the continuation of self-administration a few days after signing the purchase agreement with the Thai Central Group, and confirmed attorney Christian Graf Brockdorff LL.M., BBL Brockdorff Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, as custodian.

To complete the transaction, the landlords of the department stores must agree on rental contracts with Thai Central Group on commercially reasonable terms.
