1 min read
Global law firm White & Case LLP is advising International Finance Corporation (IFC) as direct lender and manager of IFC's Managed Co-Lending Portfolio Program on a financing to Intelvision Limited, the largest domestic mobile telecoms operator in the Seychelles.
The financing is IFC's first project in the Seychelles in many years, the first subsea cable project for the Seychelles and the latest subsea cable project to achieve financial close in Africa.
The project will help bring high-speed 4G, 5G and fixed broadband capacity to the Seychelles at a more affordable cost through its connection to the 2Africa cable system, a project to ring the entire African continent with a 23,000-mile-long, high-speed sub-sea cable landing at 16 African nations covering approximately one billion people.
The White & Case Project Development and Finance team that advised on the transaction was led by partner Martin Menski in Washington, DC and included partners Matthew Richards and Gareth Hodder, and associate Andrea McKaiser-Walbrugh in Johannesburg, and associates Valentina Castillo and Mihret Woldesemait in Washington, DC.
