Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Global Power Generation on a A$2.3 billion portfolio financing facility to support the development of its 1.8 GW portfolio of solar, wind and battery storage projects in Australia.
"As the market matures we are seeing more portfolio financings in Australia," said White & Case partner Brendan Quinn, who led the Firm’s deal team. “This structure enables organisations to use existing assets to provide greater flexibility for growth."
The portfolio consists of eight operational assets and secures construction funding for two solar PV power plants currently under construction (the Glenellen and Bundaberg solar projects). The financing was supported by a syndicate of 11 local and international banks.
The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partners Brendan Quinn and Candice Ota (both Melbourne) and included associates SuZanne Yap (Melbourne), Mukesh Rajalingam and Matthew Weetman (both Sydney).
