Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Project Development and Finance Practice, Global Energy Industry Group and US Construction Practice with the addition of Peter Berg as a partner in Houston.

"We are delighted to welcome Peter to our growing Global Project Development and Finance Practice, as we continue to strengthen our first class, front-end construction transactional practice in the Americas," said Jason Kerr, Head of White & Case's Global Project Development and Finance Practice. "Peter's significant experience in advising on innovative projects in the global energy and renewables space will add to the Firm's reputation for having a preeminent global Project Development and Finance practice, as we continue to strategically enhance our offerings in the Americas to meet market demand."

Berg represents owners, developers and lenders in the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) aspects of the development of their global on-shore and off-shore energy projects, including renewable energy projects. He advises clients on first-of-its-kind projects, including those involving long-distance HVDC transmission, green and blue hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives (including ammonia and e-fuels), carbon capture technologies, SMRs, RNG, solar and wind, and other cutting-edge energy transition projects.

"Since the buildout of our US Construction Practice, the Firm has established a leading reputation in the North American market, and Peter's addition will serve to further enhance our position in the market and provide significant support as we bolster our resources to meet the increase in workflow for construction projects in the region," said Jay Cuclis, White & Case's Houston Office Executive Partner and Co-Head of the Firm's Energy Industry Group. "The energy transition continues to drive investment in renewable energy projects, as well as in projects like CCUS to decrease the impact of continued fossil fuel use. Peter's past experience working on large-scale projects across the energy sector is essential to ensuring that we can continue to capitalize on serving our traditional energy clients and clients investing in energy transition projects. His addition further supports our ability to provide the full suite of legal services necessary to successfully implement these projects."

Peter is the latest addition to the Firm's Project Development and Finance Practice, which also added Nadav Klugman in Chicago earlier this year.
