Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Practice and its Global Private Equity Industry Group with the addition of partners Aaron Kenavan and Jamie Palmer in Sydney.
White & Case Chair Heather McDevitt said: "The addition of two highly experienced and widely respected M&A partners supports the strategic growth of our Global M&A Practice in Australia and elsewhere. The new partners will complement our strong Project Development and Finance and Financial Restructuring and Insolvency practices in Australia."
"Australia remains a busy corporate and M&A market. The addition of Aaron and Jamie is an important step in our strategy to build out our M&A team in Australia to ensure we have the team to advise clients on their highest profile and most complex M&A and private equity transactions, as well as providing public company advice," said White & Case partner John Reiss, Head of the Firm's Global M&A Practice. "Working closely with the talented group of partners in Australia currently, as well as our wider Asia-Pacific M&A practice, Aaron and Jamie will advise financial sponsor and corporate clients on their investments in and out of Australia."
Aaron advises Australian and global corporates, capital providers and investment banks on corporate transactions including listed company takeovers and mergers, share and business acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures and other forms of business collaborations, demergers and capital raisings. He has experience in various sectors including consumer and retail, energy, mining and metals, infrastructure, technology, manufacturing, services and real estate. Aaron brings more than 25 years of experience and joins White & Case from A&O Shearman, where he was a founding partner of the Australian business and led the Australian corporate team.
Jamie is a private capital specialist whose practice includes advising private equity funds, infrastructure and pension funds and family offices on their M&A transactions. He has experience across a wide range of sectors including life sciences and healthcare, renewable energy, industrials, infrastructure and real estate. Jamie brings more than 20 years of experience and joins White & Case from A&O Shearman, where he was a partner for the last nine years.
"The Asia-Pacific region continues to be a strategic priority for many of our private capital clients across our global network and, with a renewed focus on diversification of investment strategies and geographic penetration, Australia remains a compelling proposition in conjunction with increasing efforts by Australia-based alternatives investors to strengthen their connections globally," said White & Case partner Daniel Yeh, co-head of the Firm's Global Private Equity Industry Group. "Aaron's and Jamie's extensive M&A and private capital experience further enhances our capabilities in this important market in support of our clients' ambitions in the region and uniquely positions our Firm to deliver our global network to clients onshore."
