White & Case Partner Abby Cohen Smutny appointed to the Board of Directors of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration

The Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) announced the appointment of Abby Cohen Smutny to its Board of Directors, effective March 24, 2021. Smutny is Global Head of International Arbitration at White & Case LLP.
"I am honored to have been selected to support the SCCA in its mission to become one of the world's leading institutional arbitration centers and the preferred regional ADR institution by 2030," said Smutny. "I look forward to working with my distinguished colleagues on the SCCA Board to promote the SCCA and its commitment to international best practices."
The SCCA administers arbitration procedures in civil and commercial disputes where parties agree to refer their disputes to SCCA arbitration and also provides Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services in English and in Arabic. The SCCA Board is composed of 10 members, all of whom are leaders in the business, legal and finance and banking sectors.
Abby Cohen Smutny has been repeatedly ranked as a Band 1 arbitration practitioner by Chambers Global, Chambers USA, Who's Who Legal, and other leading directories. She has over 30 years of experience in the field and has held multiple leadership positions, including with the International Bar Association, the Institute for Transnational Arbitration, the American Society of International Law, the LCIA, the American Arbitration Association, and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre.
