JumpStart Program
At White & Case, the diversity of our people is a valuable asset: Our clients' needs require collaboration across borders and different perspectives on complex issues.
Our new JumpStart initiative, based in our Milan office, aims to introduce students from underrepresented communities to careers in the law.
If you are a third-year law student who identifies with an underrepresented group, this opportunity is for you.
What we offer
This program offers valuable insights into the legal profession and the work our lawyers do. Participants will gain practical skills and first-hand knowledge, have the opportunity to meet our people and build their professional network.
During the JumpStart Program, you will
- Attend our Open Day, where we will present the office and our work, play business games and introduce our team
- Spend two weeks at the Firm, shadowing lawyers and trainees, including social and networking opportunities
- Receive reimbursement for meals, accommodation and travel expenses if you are travelling from outside Milan
- Be considered for a three-month internship in your fourth or fifth year of university
You can apply if you meet all of the following criteria:
- You are studying law and want to pursue a career as a lawyer
- You are in your third year at an Italian university
- You identify as:
- Having a diverse cultural or ethnic background, such as a multi-origin heritage, or
- Being socially mobile, for example; a first-generation university student; attending university on a scholarship; working while attending university to support yourself; or having refugee status in Italy
