Overview
Yerken is an Associate of Corporate and M&A team at White & Case Astana office. He specializes in corporate and civil law, M&A, business structuring and investments. His experience includes advising on wide range corporate matters, analysing, drafting contracts and other transactional documents. He has a broad experience in due diligence processes.
Prior to joining White & Case Yerken has worked at one of the leading law firms in Kazakhstan and the Big Four organization.
Experience
Representation of Nostrum Oil & Gas PLC ("Nostrum"), a UK-listed oil and gas company engaging in the production, development and exploration of oil and gas in the pre-Caspian Basin in Kazakhstan, in connection with its financial restructuring of in excess of US$1.125 billion in principal of senior unsecured notes issued by Nostrum and Nostrum Oil & Gas Finance B.V.
Representation of Nostrum in relation to its acquisition of 80% of the participatory interests in POSITIV Invest LLP, a company holding the subsoil use right for the development of eight hydrocarbon fields in Western Kazakhstan.
Representation of National Company KazMunayGas JSC, a leading national oil and gas company, and Samruk-Kazyna, Kazakhstan's national welfare fund as the selling shareholder on the IPO of c. 18.3 million ordinary shares of KMG owned by Samruk-Kazyna on the Kazakhstan Exchanges (AIX and the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange). This is the first IPO on the AIX to be based on the prospectus prepared exclusively in accordance with the AIX regulations (all prior equity offerings on AIX followed a "dual listing" model where the AIX accepted prospectuses prepared in accordance with the regulations of exchanges the AIX recognizes as equivalent).
Representation of international consortium with respect to operation and maintenance of the Big Almaty Ring Motor Road, the largest infrastructure PPP project in Kazakhstan.

Representation of National Post Operator in Kazakhstan during M&A and privatization process, including pre-sale diagnostic, analysis of the regulatory framework as well as preparation of draft amendments to the law, legal structuring, drafting of transactional documents and coordination of potential investors.*
