Overview

Woo Kim is an associate in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice, based in Seoul.

Woo has strong cross-border experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and corporate transactions. Prior to his career as a lawyer, Woo worked in the Strategic Innovation Team for the Hyundai Motor Group.

  • Mubadala Investment Company in its multi-billion dollar co-acquisition of Osstem Implant.
  • Hyundai Motor Group in various transactions, including its (i) multi-billion dollar automobile manufacturing plant project in Indonesia; (ii) US$4 billion joint venture with Aptiv to develop their autonomous driving software business; (iii) US$300 million investment, with Kia Corporation, in an Indian ride-hailing company; (iv) equity investment HiiROC, a UK energy solution company with pyrolysis hydrogen technologies; (v) equity investment in Revv, India's fastest growing self-drive car sharing company and (vi) various other equity investments.
  • Hyundai Mobis and: (i) 12 other affiliates in relation to their multi-billion dollar automobile parts-related manufacturing plant in Mexico; (ii) 16 other affiliates in relation to their multi-billion dollar automobile parts-related manufacturing plant in India; (iii) various equity investments.
  • Various subsidiaries of SK in their (i) equity investment in a US GPU Cloud company; (ii) establishment of a joint venture with major global telecommunications companies to develop large language business technology/business; (iii) equity sale of its LNG business in Peru; and (iv) various other equity investment and sale.
  • Hyundai Steel in their feasibility/site selection phase for a potential plant investment in India.
  • Kia Corporation in its: (i) multi-billion dollar automobile manufacturing plant in Mexico; and (ii) multi-billion dollar automobile manufacturing plant in India.
  • KakaoMobility in its acquisition of Splyt Limited, a company that integrates ridehailing, transfer, scooter, bikesharing and food delivery suppliers into superapps and travel platforms.
  • Hanwha Solutions in its (i) acquisition of Delay Holdings Corp.; and (ii) various equity investments.
  • Celltrion in various transactions, including (i) in its asset sale of prescription and over-the-counter biosimilar products; and (ii) providing corporate governance advice.
  • Innocean Worldwide Holdings in various transactions, including in its (i) acquisition of Wellcom Group, valued at AUD500 million; and (ii) acquisition of David & Goliath LLC, a globally renowned marketing services provider.
