Overview
Ted Smith is a partner in the Firm's Real Estate Industry Group and Mergers & Acquisitions practice group, based in the firm's Houston office.
Ted’s practice focuses on joint venture formations, acquisitions involving industrial, multi-family, office, and retail properties, asset financings, and loan restructurings for private equity clients. Ted regularly advises clients in all aspects of limited partnership and limited liability company formation and large single asset and portfolio acquisitions. In addition, Ted has extensive experience representing national banks and private lenders in connection with syndicated loans, securitized loans, and mezzanine loans and in connection with workouts and foreclosures concerning the same. Specifically, Ted’s loan workout experience includes troubled debt restructures, note sales, receiverships, receivership sales, foreclosures, transfers-in-lieu of foreclosure, and short sale arrangements.
