Overview
Sven Pauls advises financial institutions, investment firms, payment providers, financial service providers, including fintechs and unregulated companies, on all aspects of financial supervisory law – including set-up, own funds and risk management requirements, passporting, ESG and crypto regulation. He also assists clients with regard to regulatory on-site inspections and administrative supervisory proceedings.
Experience
Advising ABN AMRO Bank N.V. (ABN AMRO) on its acquisition of Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe Privatbank AG (Hauck Aufhäuser Lampe) from Fosun International Limited, which is subject to regulatory approvals.
Advising international banks on governance requirements including the appointment of members of the supervisory board.
Advising a major bank on the application for approval of the group capital test.
Advising a CRR credit institution on post-Brexit supervisory requirements on external funding.
Advising a major crypto custodian on outsourcing arrangements and supervisory requirements on staking of crypto assets.
