Overview
Sofian is an associate in our Corporate and M&A practice. Sofian has acted on transactions across various sectors, including telecommunications, renewables and consumer goods. Clients have included financial sponsors, public and private companies, banks and funds.
Sofian joined the Dubai office of White & Case in 2022, prior to which, he worked for a magic circle firm in its London office.
Experience
Representative experience includes:
Representation of Magellan Capital in its acquisition of a majority stake in Danish Ship Finance from Nordic private equity firm Axcel and Danish pension funds PFA and PKA;
Representation of the Saudi Government's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in connection with the investment, by Amazon Web Services, of over USD 5.3 billion to launch an infrastructure region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia;
Representation of Blackstone, Oak Hill and Barings on the equity financing of a structured insurance demerger of Fidelis Insurance Holdings Limited and the existing insurance companies, the Fidelis Insurance Group. The transaction creates a new Bermuda-based managing general underwriter, Fidelis MGU;
Representation of Goldilocks Investment Company in its business combination with Eshraq Investments;
Representation of Funds affiliated with DigitalBridge Investment Management in acquiring the telecom tower portfolios of two leading Icelandic mobile network operators to create the first independent tower company of scale in Iceland;
Representation of Ørsted on its agreement to divest a 50% interest in its 1.3 GW Hornsea 2 offshore windfarm;
Representation of Carlyle Group on the sale of a majority stake in Logoplaste to Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board;
Representation of G4S on the separation and sale of the majority of its conventional cash business to The Brink's Company;
Representation of Steinhoff in connection with the restructuring of its European operating business; and
Representation of Unilever on the carve-out sale of its global spreads business to KKR.
