Overview

Panagiotis Chalkias is an Associate in the Firm's International Arbitration Practice and is based in Geneva. Panagiotis' practice includes advising and representing clients in complex, high-value cross-border disputes in a variety of industries under all major arbitration rules and governed by various substantive laws, both common law and civil law.

Prior to joining White & Case, Panagiotis worked as an associate at an international arbitration boutique in Brussels and as legal consultant at the World Intellectual Property Organization Arbitration and Mediation Center in Geneva.

Panagiotis is currently co-chair of Young AFSA (Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa). He served as co-chair of Young ICCA (International Council for Commercial Arbitration) between 2019 and 2021. He has been recognized by Who's Who Legal: Arbitration – Future Leaders 2022-2025.

Representing a European investment company in a Swiss Arbitration Centre arbitration relating to an oil & gas project in Latin America.

Representing parties in an ICC arbitration relating to a share purchase transaction in the oil & gas industry.

Advising a CIS company in respect of a sales contract in the aluminum industry.

Representing a joint venture EPC contractor in ICC arbitral proceedings arising out of a European power plant project;

Representing a major Asian company specialized in the mining industry in ICC arbitration proceedings concerning the development and exploitation of mines in Africa;

Representing a European general contractor in an ICC arbitration against a subcontractor concerning the construction of a technical plant in a Nordic state;

Representing a European general contractor in an ICC arbitration concerning the construction of a power plant in the Middle East;

Representing a European general contractor in two ICC arbitrations concerning a dispute relating to the construction of an industrial process plant in Australia;

Representing a bank in a Swiss Arbitration Centre (SAC) expedited arbitration concerning the validity of a shared liability agreement.
