Biography
Overview
Olivier is a Local Partner in the BeLux Transactional practice and the global Dispute Resolution Practice.
Olivier has renowned expertise in commercial, civil and administrative litigation, and appears regularly before all jurisdictions in Belgium. He has been involved in the court proceedings dealing with the two major industrial catastrophes of the last decades, i.e. the gas explosion of Ghislenghien and the train accident of Buizingen.
He has also considerable experience in constitutional litigation (litigation before the constitutional court) and major multijurisdictional litigation cases.
Olivier is described in Legal 500 as "a very strong lawyer" by his clients, who combines "a very good knowledge of the law with commercial savviness".
Olivier has a law degree from the Vrije Universiteit Brussels and studied one semester at the University of Copenhagen on an Erasmus scholarship.
Prior to joining White & Case, Olivier has been practicing for more than 20 years amongst which 15 years in the Dispute Resolution department of a leading international law firm.
