Overview

Nicole (Hyung Sun) specializes in the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects and advises diverse clients in the renewable energy, energy transition and oil & gas sectors across South Korea, other parts of Asia and Europe. Nicole also has experience in general and structured financing, reserve based lending, mezzanine financing and M&A transactions.

Prior to joining White & Case, Nicole has worked for one of Korea's leading law firms and a Silver Circle firm (in their London and Singapore offices). She also spent a year on secondment with Nippon Export & Investment Insurance (NEXI) in Japan.

Jeonnam Offshore Wind Power on the development of 99MW Jeonnam 1 offshore wind farm off the coast of Jeonnam Province in the southwest of Korea, the first offshore wind power project to reach financial close in Korea.*

Various multinational energy companies, including Iberdrola, Ørsted, CIP, EDFR and Shell on Korean electricity regulations (including the Electricity Business License) and routes to market in South Korea.*

A Canadian power company on development of multiple offshore wind projects in Korea.*

A German asset management company on potential acquisition of four solar power projects and multiple onshore wind power projects in Korea.*

A Singaporean renewables energy company on its proposed entry into the Korean energy market and the potential acquisition of two solar power projects in Korea.*

Hanwha Energy Corporation on the EUR54.6 million financing of 200MW battery energy storage system in Ireland.*

NEXI (on secondment) on the US$14 billion financing of natural gas production and liquefaction plants in Mozambique Area 1.*

Ophir Energy plc on the US$130 million bridge facility for the acquisition of oil and gas assets in Vietnam and Indonesia.*

International Petroleum Corporation on its inaugural US$100 million RBL facility.*

Lundin Petroleum group on the amendment and restatement of its US$5 billion credit facility and the simultaneous spin-out of its French, Dutch and Malaysian assets into the new Canadian holding company International Petroleum Corporation.*
