Biography
Overview
Nick is a core member of White & Case’s Tech Disputes practice group sitting in Los Angeles. He specializes in intermediary liability and has advised major technology and social media platforms in litigation and regulatory disputes across global jurisdictions.
Nick maintains a broad international practice guiding his clients in matters ranging from ‘request for information’ responses from the European Commission under the Digital Services Act to test-case scam ad regulatory litigation to content takedown disputes, and more. This global perspective enables Nick to stay ahead of regulatory and litigation trends impacting his clients everywhere and anywhere they operate, reflecting his intimate familiarity with the borderless nature of his clients’ services.
Domestically, Nick is deeply focused on product counseling for developers of artificial intelligence (AI) tools by partnering with clients to design products in a way that will comply with legislative developments such as Colorado’s AI Act and the raft of AI-focused legislation recently signed into law in California.
Building on his experience working for various public defenders’ offices during and before law school, Nick also maintains a robust pro bono practice focused on criminal justice issues. He recently briefed and argued a criminal appeal before the New York Supreme Court’s Appellate Division and led a team to file an amicus brief in support of overturning Pennsylvania’s mandatory life without parole sentence for certain offenders.
