Biography
Overview
Nicholas Wilkins is counsel in the Firm's Tax Group. Nick has worked on a variety of tax matters, including federal tax litigation, domestic tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service at the examination and appeals levels (including alternative dispute resolution such as Fast Track Settlement), tax-exempt organization issues, and international tax issues.
Nick represents a wide variety of clients in various sectors, particularly financial services and technology. Current and recent controversy matters include disputes over foreign exchange gain, domestic production activities deductions, foreign tax credits, and utilization of consolidated net operating losses. Nick also has extensive experience in transfer pricing, in both the Advance Pricing Agreement and controversy contexts. While Nick's primary focus is civil tax controversy, he has assisted clients resolve potential criminal liability including through the U.S. Department of Justice's Swiss Bank Program and the Internal Revenue Service's Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program.
Nick received his BA and MA in Economics in 2007 from Boston University and his JD in 2010 from Harvard Law School. He is a member of the District of Columbia and Massachusetts Bars. Nick is a member of the American Bar Association.
