Overview
Michael Evans brings extensive tech regulatory, IP/IT and commercial contract expertise together in the context of tech-intensive transactions and strategic commercial projects. Michael joined White & Case from another leading international law firm.
Michael has advised a range of clients on the technology, IP/IT and data aspects of their transactions and projects, including: Octopus Energy, Fujitsu, Mars, Cazoo, LSEG, the National Bank of Greece, TotalEnergies and a range of Private Equity firms.
Michael has extensive in-house experience having been seconded to Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Tesco and Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation).

Experience
- Provided general technology law advice to Octopus Energy Group, including Kraken Technologies on IP/IT matters and software, services and technology development agreements.*
- Advised one of the world’s largest technology companies on strategic commercial contract matters and various platform, AI and e-Commerce regulations.*
- Advised CVC and Hellman & Friedman (and other PE houses) on a range of IP/IT, data and other tech issues arising in the context of their investments in the AdTech, cyber security, software and SaaS sectors.*
- Advised Mars, Inc. on the carve-out and disposal of the Mars Drinks business to Lavazza and other transactions.*
- Led on the technical and commercial separation of an international mobile operator from its parent group in anticipation of a premium listing in London and IP licensing requirements. *
- Advised Total on the separation, technology and IP aspects of its USD 7.45bn acquisition of Maersk Oil & Gas. *
- Advised the National Bank of Greece in respect of a number of disposals, including transitional services arrangements, white labelling and brand licensing in several jurisdictions. *
