Biography

Overview

Michael specializes in national security regulatory matters and litigation, and provides strategic counsel to private companies and foreign sovereigns involved in transactions subject to review by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and other foreign direct investment regulatory regimes. Additionally, he represents clients in a variety of government investigations and complex commercial litigation matters in federal district courts.

Before joining White & Case, Michael worked in the US Department of Defense's Foreign Investment Review section where he supported CFIUS and other national security initiatives. He also led the team responsible for the section's involvement with the Committee for the Assessment of Foreign Participation in the United States Telecommunications Services Sector (commonly known as Team Telecom).

During law school, Michael interned with the US Department of Justice's National Security Division and served as a managing editor for Georgetown Law's Journal of National Security Law & Policy. He also previously served as an officer in the US Army Reserves.
