Lauren Gorab
Biography
Overview
Lauren Gorab is a law clerk in White & Case's Los Angeles office and a member of the Firm's award-winning Global Antitrust/Competition Group. Her practice focuses on complex antitrust litigation and counseling, including on issues involving intellectual property laws. Lauren represents clients across a broad range of industries including pharmaceuticals, technology, telecommunications, and higher education. Lauren has experience representing both plaintiff- and defendant-side clients, and has defended clients against class action claims and allegations of price-fixing.
Lauren recently defended Vanderbilt University in an antitrust class action accusing 17 major U.S. universities of illegally colluding to limit student financial aid. Lauren has significant experience at all stages of litigation, including drafting motions to dismiss, managing document and fact discovery, offensive and defensive depositions, expert reports and expert depositions, and summary judgment.
Lauren also maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing clients under the Juvenile Restoration Act, projects involving reproductive health and criminal defense reform, and an externship with Her Justice, a New York City-based non-profit that provides free legal services to low-income women that have been the victims of domestic violence, trafficking, or other crimes.
Prior to joining the Firm, Lauren clerked for the Honorable Claire C. Cecchi in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in Newark.
Lauren graduated from Fordham University School of Law where she served as the Executive Symposia Editor for the Fordham Law Review and as a member of the Moot Court Board. In 2018, Lauren competed in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, where her team won the U.S. South Regional championship and first place memorial.
