Biography

Overview

Konstantine Kopaliani is an Associate in the International Arbitration Group in Paris. He is trained both in civil and common law. His practice focuses on construction, commercial and investment treaty arbitration, and matters of public international law.

During his LLM, Konstantine served as a staff editor for Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law. Prior to joining White & Case, Konstantine worked with the Codification Division of the UN Office of Legal Affairs.

Konstantine has also been actively involved in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition for a number of years.

Experience

Representing Georgia in parallel ICSID and ICC arbitrations relating to the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project;

Representing an Eastern European state in a Paris-seated ICC arbitration in relation to the termination of a contract for the construction of a hydroelectric power plant;

Advised Cypriot and Luxemburgish companies in relation to the dispute arising out of the foreclosure of the companies' assets;

Represented a Georgian state entity in two different ICC arbitrations against Italian contractors under the FIDIC Pink Book form of construction contract;
