Biography

Overview

Justyna Sikora is an associate in the White & Case International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution practice. She provides legal assistance to clients in international commercial arbitration and court proceedings.

Justyna specializes in international commercial arbitration and international business law. The cases she has dealt with primarily involve post-M&A, energy, and construction claims (mainly under the ICC Rules of Arbitration).

Prior to joining White & Case, she gained experience through internships in arbitration and litigation departments of several leading international law firms. She has also defended her Master's thesis on Third-Party Funding in International Commercial Arbitration.

Justyna is actively involved in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, FDI International Investment Moot and Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. She took part in them with successes and remains associated with the mooting community.

Her experience includes:

Representation of one of the largest payments companies in Europe in international arbitration on a complex post-M&A dispute concerning a high-value transaction involving a company from the on-line payments sector. The parties are in disagreement about the effectiveness and valuation of the call/put option.

Representation of an investment company in a high-stake international arbitration concerning a mega infrastructure project in the CEE. Dispute revolves around the ownership of shares and the effectiveness of performance of the right of first refusal.

Representation of one of the largest electricity producers in Europe in court proceedings on a complex dispute resulting from the purchase of a renewable energy project in Poland.

Assisting in the representation of a Japanese oil company in respect of numerous arbitrations and project completion issues arising out of the construction of an multi-billion onshore LNG processing facility.
