Overview

Jessica Leung is a partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice, based in Singapore.

Jessica advises private equity clients, multinational companies, fund managers and other financial investors on major cross-border M&A, private equity, joint venture, data centers and private equity real estate transactions throughout Asia.

Experience

Keppel Capital, a leading owner and operator of data centers across Asia-Pacific and Europe, on its joint venture with Digital Decarbonization Solutions Platform, a digital infrastructure and decarbonized energy delivery company to acquire certain land in Taiwan to develop and operate an 80 MW Tier III-equivalent greenfield data center campus in North Taiwan. This deal marks Keppel's first data center project in Taiwan.

Nestlé on its successful acquisition of the remaining 40% stake in Hsu Fu Chi Limited, a leading Chinese confectionary company from the founding Hsu family. 

An Asia-based secondaries firm on its:

  • acquisition of shares in a Cayman Islands feeder company which invests in a fund that holds real estate and logistics assets in India from an investment management company.
  • acquisition of a diversified portfolio of three mature real estate fund positions, focusing on credit investments in the Asia-Pacific region and managed by an Asian investment management firm.
  • acquisition from an investment bank of a secondary portfolio of equity investments through two newly formed partnerships, of which it is the lead investor.
  • acquisition of certain limited partnership interests in several funds managed by a leading alternative investment firm.

ESR on its:

  • disposal of interests in a data center asset in Osaka, Japan to a joint venture vehicle established by ESR and CloudHQ.
  • joint venture with a private investment firm to acquire, develop and manage a real estate logistics asset in Japan.
  • disposal of interests in the Higashi Ogishima B Distribution Centre in Japan to a joint venture vehicle established by ESR and The Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), and related shareholder arrangements in respect of the SPC with GIC.
  • $368 million acquisition of ESR Kuki Distribution Centre in Japan by AXA Investment Managers from Redwood Japan Logistics Fund II (RJLF II).
  • establishment of a US$300 million programmatic co-investment platform with Ping An Real Estate, and related shareholder arrangements, for investments in logistics and distribution assets.

A global developer, owner operator and service provider of hyperscale data centers on its proposed development and leasing of a build-to-suit data center in Malaysia.

A Singapore-based fund manager on the divestment of a large portfolio of assets in the PRC to an insurance group.

A leading global financial sponsor on its:

  • acquisition of one of Malaysia's largest international schools including its parcel of land.
  • acquisition of an international school in Singapore.
  • acquisition of leading international schools in Thailand including its certain land area and school buildings.

CVC Capital Partners on its investment in SOHO Group, a local leading pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing and distribution group.

Schneider Electric, a global player in energy management and automation, on its US$2.1 billion (₹14,000 crore) acquisition of Larsen & Toubro Electrical & Automation, and on the subsequent consortium arrangements between Schneider Electric and Temasek Holdings Private Ltd. The transaction was named "Cross-Border M&A Deal of the Year (Over US$1 billion)" by the M&A Advisor (2020).

bolttech Holdings Limited, an international insurtech company, on its US$180 million series A equity financing round (led by Activant Capital Group), which valued bolttech at more than US$1 billion and was reportedly the largest ever insurtech Series A funding round.
