James Butler is an associate in the Global Antitrust Group and is based in the Boston office. James' practice supports clients in complex domestic and cross-border disputes, including government investigations and antitrust litigation.
James also has an active pro bono practice, with a particular focus on criminal justice issues. He works on a variety of matters, including wrongful conviction appeals and prisoners' rights litigation.
While in law school, James was the Editor-in-Chief of the Boston University Public Interest Law Journal and assisted in wrongful conviction appeals through the Wrongful Conviction Practicum. Before law school, James taught English in Vienna for two years through a program administered by Fulbright Austria and he earned his master's degree in Advanced International Studies from the University of Vienna.
