Overview

Gustavo Gaspar Nogueira is an associate in the International Arbitration Group in Paris. He has experience representing companies and States in both contract-based and investment treaty arbitrations.

Prior to joining White & Case, Gustavo gained experience in international arbitration in leading law firms in Paris, London and São Paulo. In Brazil, he also acted as administrative secretary in arbitration proceedings conducted under the auspices of all major Brazilian arbitral institutions and represented clients in civil and commercial matters before national courts.

Gustavo is actively involved in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot and is a member of YPCP (Young Professionals of Construction in Paris).

Representing a consortium of European construction companies in a multibillion-dollar ICC arbitration relating to the expansion of the Panama Canal.

Representing an energy provider in an ICC arbitration relating to issues affecting gas turbines in a power plant in West Africa.

Representing Cypriot companies in SCC arbitrations relating to the construction and operation of desalination plants.

Representing an Eastern European company in Dispute Board proceedings relating to the construction of a water management project.

Representing an African state in ICC and Swiss Chambers arbitrations in a dispute arising from an international fraud, bribery, and corruption scandal.

Advising an Eastern European government employer regarding the management of a road infrastructure contract.

Acting as ad hoc clerk in an arbitration administered by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the application of sanctions by an international sport federation on a national sport federation.

Assisting a European pharmaceutical company in LCIA and HKIAC arbitrations against a Chinese distributor regarding the distribution of pharmaceuticals in China.*
