Overview

Francesca Maria Moretti is an Italian qualified lawyer with over 30 years of experience in competition and regulatory law. She represents companies in proceedings concerning antitrust law violations and regulatory law issues both in Italy before the competent authorities and at EU level before the European institutions. She is a full-fledged antitrust litigator with a long-lasting practice before Italian and EU courts.

Francesca regularly assists Italian and international clients operating in a broad range of industry sectors, including construction materials, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, aviation, entertainment, vending, media, telecommunications and digital markets. She advises companies on a wide range of antitrust law issues, such as mergers and acquisitions, compliance programs and internal audits, stand-alone and follow-on actions for damages, antitrust issues in public tenders, distribution and agency agreements, investigations (including dawn raids) within the framework of cartel cases (Including applications for leniency) and abuse of dominance cases, ESG and sustainability issues within the framework of competition law, as well as on unfair competition practices and consumer protection. Francesca also handles notifications under the Italian Foreign Direct Investments' regime and under the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation. Francesca cooperates with Universities in Milan and Rome on antitrust law seminars and lectures. She is a widely published author of articles and a contributor to books on antitrust law issues. She is a co-founder of Concorrenze, an Italian association of antitrust law experts, and of LexGreen, a blog on antitrust law and sustainability.

Francesca advised Medigas S.r.l. and Magaldi S.r.l. in connection with all phases of the Italian cartel investigation in the home-oxygen and ventilation therapy, including – besides the appeals before the administrative courts – the proceedings before the Italian Supreme Court and the Supreme Administrative Court for revocation of the previous judgement.*
