Biography

Overview

Emmie is a partner in our London private equity team and co-head of the Firm's fast-growth practice. She advises clients on the structuring, negotiation and execution of highly complex, cross-border transactions across multiple sectors but with a particular focus on technology and fast-growth companies.

Emmie has extensive experience advising founders, growth investors, private equity houses and corporate venture capital providers on their investments as well as on acquisitions, disposals and management equity deals.

Experience

Representative experience includes advising:

GRIDSERVE, a tech-enabled sustainable energy business providing advanced hybrid solar and battery farms, on the £200 million investment by Infracapital and TPG Rise.

Antin Next Gen Fund on its investment into SNRG, which provides an end-to-end service designing, funding, building and operating microgrids that help facilitate an all-electric, zero carbon transition.

SoftBank Vision Fund as lead investor on numerous transactions including on its investments into:

  • Energy Vault, a start-up using ground-breaking technology to facilitate long term energy storage.
  • OakNorth, the British unicorn challenger bank, at the time this was the largest-ever European FinTech fundraising.
  • OurCrowd, a global venture investing platform.

Hiro Capital on a number of growth investments, including in:

  • Incredibuild, a developer of a software acceleration technology, as lead investor on a US$35 million Series B funding round.
  • Machinations, a browser-based platform to design and predict game economies & systems, on its Series A funding round.

Novator Partners as lead investor into Nord Security, a global leader in internet privacy and security solutions, on its first P1 preferred share financing round, with participation from Burda Principal Investments.

Pace Revenue, a UK-based revenue management and dynamic pricing platform within the hospitality industry on the sale of its entire issued share capital to FLYR, Inc., a series C stage US business which operates a revenue management platform for airlines.

Habito, an online mortgage broker servicing the UK, which created the world's first robo-adviser for regulated mortgage advice on several financing rounds, including its Series C, D and E fundraisings.

Feebris, a UK health-tech start-up that uses signal processing algorithms on digital devices to turn data into actionable diagnostic outputs, on its seed and Series A funding rounds.

Zynga, a global leader in interactive entertainment, on its US$1.8 billion acquisition of Istanbul-based Peak, it was the largest acquisition of a start-up in Turkey and made Peak Turkey's first "unicorn."

Tuune, a femtech startup that leverages AI and biological testing to match women with contraception, on its seed funding round, including pre-funding reorganization.
