Biography
Overview
DeMarcus Williams is an associate in the Firm's Silicon Valley office and a member of the Intellectual Property practice group. His practice focuses on counselling technology companies in their intellectual property matters with a focus on patent litigation. DeMarcus has extensive experience in initial assessment of claims and defenses, motion practice, discovery, claim construction, expert testimony, and deposition participation.
DeMarcus has experience handling various high-tech matters, providing assistance in both district litigations and Inter Partes Reviews, whether the assertion is that of direct infringement, indirect infringement, and/or indemnification matters.
With his biomedical engineering degree, DeMarcus is particularly experienced in assisting medical device clients with various associated intellectual property litigation matters from international clients interested in entering the U.S. Market to litigation itself. This has included medical devices for the treatment of cardiovascular and ophthalmological disorders.
During law school, DeMarcus was a part of the Competitive Trial Advocacy Team for two years. He also handled several civil cases while working at the University of Alabama School of Law's Civil Law Clinic.

Represented Anacor Pharmaceuticals and Pfizer in Hatch-Waxman litigations arising from the abbreviated new drug applications filed by five generic developers, defending four patents.
Sterling Computers Corp. v. X Corp., No. 1:21-cv-00552 (W.D. Tex.)
Represented X Corp. in a patent infringement suit filed by Sterling Computers asserting a patent directed to a system for filtering electronic messages by a determined relevancy to a user.
