Biography
Overview
David de Freitas is an Associate in the Firm's International Arbitration Practice, based in Geneva. David's practice includes advising and representing clients in complex, high-value cross-border disputes in a variety of industries under all major arbitration rules and governed by various substantive laws, both common law and civil law.
Prior to joining White & Case, David worked as an associate at a boutique international arbitration firm in São Paulo, he also worked in major arbitration law firms based in Paris and interned at the ICC Court of Arbitration.
David is also associated with Delos, an independent arbitral institution providing innovative legal instruments to facilitate the use of arbitration. He is an editor of the Guide to Arbitration Places designed to promote lesser-known seats through an objective, comparative study.

Representing Chinese investment companies and African joint venture companies in two ICC arbitrations related to the mining industry.
Advising a Swiss company in relation to a distribution contract with a Portuguese company.
Representing a Brazilian party in an ICC arbitration relating to a share purchase agreement and a shareholders' agreement, including cyberattacks and hacking issues.
Representing a Brazilian company in a CAM-CCBC arbitration relating to insurance policies and cellulose industry.*
Representing an Angolan party in an ICC arbitration relating to a share purchase agreement and a shareholders' agreement.
Representing a major international tyre distributor company before Brazilian courts, mostly foreclosure actions.*
