Biography
Overview
Chantal is an associate in the Project Development and Finance Practice in the Firm's Houston office. She represents clients in complex domestic and international projects and commercial transactions, including project development and construction, joint ventures and investments, and commercial contracts for energy and energy transition projects, including upstream oil & gas (both onshore and offshore), LNG, power, biodiesel, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, renewable energy and petrochemical. Chantal serves on the US Chapter Committee and the Young Negotiators committee of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
Experience
Representation of a project sponsor in drafting and negotiating all material project documents for a proposed gas-to-gasoline plant, including feedstock supply, pipeline precedent and transportation agreements, product offtake agreements (including hydrogen and the Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) hydrocarbons) and utilities arrangements
Representation of an investment bank-backed portfolio company in negotiating and structuring its investments into LNG-to-power projects across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas, as well as in drafting and negotiating all material project documents
Representation of Chevron with the negotiation of a cross- border unitization project in West Africa
Representation of owner/developer in the drafting and negotiation of an EPC agreement for the construction of an LNG facility in North America
Representation of a syndicate of commercial and institutional lenders, led by Société Générale, in the up to US$1.25 billion financing of the development of the deepwater Shenandoah field in the US Gulf of Mexico and related offshore infrastructure being developed by Beacon Offshore Energy, Navitas Petroleum and Houston Energy Quantum
Representation of Vitol Inc. in connection with LNG master services agreements and LNG sales and purchase agreements (SPAs), including the LNG SPA with Tellurian for three million tons per year on a free-on-board basis at Driftwood LNG for a ten-year term, valued at about US$12 billion in revenue over ten years
Representation of GreenStruxure, a joint venture of Schneider Electric and Huck Capital, in developing a strategic partnership with ClearGen, a Blackstone portfolio company, whereby ClearGen will provide US$500 million in long-term capital to GreenStruxture to develop, operate and maintain on-site renewable energy microgrid systems. Customers of these microgrids will benefit from "energy-as-a-service" solutions that provide energy and sustainability solutions with no upfront capital contribution and no operational risks
Representation of Schneider Electric, a global player in energy management and automation, in its ₹14,000 crore acquisition of the Larsen & Toubro Electrical & Automation business and the subsequent consortium between Schneider Electric's partnership with Temasek Holdings Private Limited, Singapore's Sovereign Wealth Fund. The transaction was named "Cross-Border M&A Deal of the Year (Over US$1 billion)" by the M&A Advisor (2020)
