Carol J. Kim
Biography
Overview
Carol Kim is an associate in White & Case's Global Antitrust/Competition Group. Her practice focuses on merger clearance, government investigations, and civil litigation. She also has significant experience in the Firm's foreign sovereigns practice, including international arbitration and litigations brought under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act. In addition, her international trade experience includes sanctions compliance and advising clients on export and import control laws and regulations.
Carol further maintains an active pro bono practice with a focus on human and civil rights. She also serves on the Lawyer's Council for the Washington Urban Debate League ("WUDL"), a partnership between WUDL and the legal community to support and mentor students who participate in local debate teams.
Prior to joining the Firm, Carol interned as a law clerk at the U.S. Department of Commerce's Commercial Law Development Program. She also served as a student director of the school's corporate law clinic, where she worked with Fortune 500 and startup companies on matters spanning whistleblower policies, M&A trends, and data privacy regulation.
Carol graduated from the University of Chicago Law School, where she received the International Human Rights Law Fellowship, Pro Bono Honors, and the Ann Watson Barber Outstanding Service Award for graduating students who have made exceptional contributions to the school's quality of life.
