Biography

Overview

Benjamin Rodin is an associate in the Project Development and Finance Group in London. He joined the Firm as a trainee in 2021 during which time he spent six months in our Singapore office. He also completed a secondment to the investment banking legal team at Nomura in London.

Prior to his legal career, Benjamin worked in consulting at a Big Four firm in Moscow, Russia and Tbilisi, Georgia.

Representative experience includes:

Finance

Representation of renewable energy producer Sunly AS on a €300 million portfolio financing to promote the construction of its 1.3 GW pipeline of solar, wind and battery energy storage system facilities across the Baltics and Poland.

Representation of DP World Limited and its subsidiary DP World Middle East Company Limited on a SAR1.28 billion project financing for the development and upgrade of the South Container Terminal at Jeddah Islamic Port located in Saudi Arabia.

Representation of the export credit agencies and a large syndicate of international and Taiwanese commercial banks on the restructuring of wpd's 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind project in Taiwan.

Representation of a UK gas pipeline operator on the refinancing of its existing debt.

Project development

Representation of Southern Gas Corridor CJSC (SGC) on the sale and purchase agreement with MVM Group, an energy company owned by the Republic of Hungary, for the sale of a 5 percent stake in the Production Sharing Agreement for Shah Deniz offshore gas-condensate field and a 4 percent stake in Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company Limited (AGSC), the special-purpose vehicle established for the marketing and sale of natural gas produced from Shah Deniz gas-condensate field.

Representation of Saudi Aramco on its acquisition of a 10 percent interest in Shenzhen-listed Rongsheng Petrochemical Co. Ltd. (Rongsheng) for RMB24.6 billion (US$3.6 billion).
