Biography
Asad is an associate in the Project Development and Finance Group in London. Asad acts for sponsors, lenders and governments on a range of financing and project development matters across the natural resources, energy, power and infrastructure sectors. He gained valuable industry and sector experience while on secondment to Vulcan Energy.
Asad joined the Firm as a trainee in 2019 and qualified in 2021, after having spent 6 months on secondment to the firm's Abu Dhabi office.
Experience
Representation of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and JSC Uzkimyosanoat on the establishment of a green hydrogen production facility to be developed in collaboration with ACWA Power Company of Saudi Arabia.
Representation of GETEC on its €3.1 billion refinancing.
Representation of SAFCO Ventures on a landmark US$141.9 million combined debt and equity raise for the design, construction and operation of a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) facility in Sheikhupura, Pakistan.
Representation of Etu Energias, S.A., Angola's largest private energy company, on the acquisition financing of stakes in upstream Angolan assets from the Portuguese multinational energy company Galp.
Representation of Southern Gas Corridor CJSC (SGC) on the sale and purchase agreement with MVM Group, an energy company owned by the Republic of Hungary, for the sale of a 5 percent stake in the Production Sharing Agreement for Shah Deniz offshore gas-condensate field and a 4 percent stake in Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company Limited (AGSC), the special-purpose vehicle established for the marketing and sale of natural gas produced from Shah Deniz gas-condensate field.
Representation of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) on the acquisition from the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) of a 3 percent participating interest in the Umm Lulu, Satah Al Razboot (SARB), Bin Nasher and Al Bateel offshore concession located in the United Arab Emirates.
