Biography

Overview

Alissa advises primarily on all aspects of data protection law as well as on matters related to information technology (IT) and intellectual property (IP) law.

Alissa focuses on assisting multinational clients with European and German data protection compliance, both out-of-court and in litigation. She has a detailed knowledge of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its implementation in Germany. Her practice covers collaborating with clients to identify data protection issues that may arise in their business operations and assisting them with addressing the relevant legal obligations. Alissa also provides advice to digital platforms on the fast-evolving regulatory framework concerning them.

Before joining White & Case as a lawyer, Alissa worked as a research assistant in the Firm's office in Frankfurt, where she specialized in data protection. Notably, she contributed to a chapter on data protection in a legal handbook on cybersecurity and assisted in drafting an amicus brief to the USSC in a matter related to data protection law. Alissa later also conducted parts of her legal traineeship in the Firm's Berlin office.

Alissa is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
