Biography
Overview
Alexandre is a local partner in our Global Commercial Litigation practice, registered with both the Luxembourg (Liste IV) and Brussels bars, and practicing in both jurisdictions.
His practice focuses on advising and representing clients in Luxembourg and Belgium, both in domestic courts and arbitration proceedings. Alexandre has extensive experience representing domestic and cross-border clients in international dispute resolution, national and international arbitration, white collar / investigations and complex commercial disputes.
Alexandre also served as (sole) arbitrator and secretary to an arbitral tribunal, as well as national expert for Belgium on the assessments by the EU Commission of the implementation of the EU legislation, such as the European Public Prosecutor Office. He has been appointed as sole arbitrator by the CEPANI, the Belgian arbitration and mediation centre, and served as secretary of a CEPANI arbitral tribunal.
His secondment to the legal department of Engie, provided him with invaluable insight from an industry perspective. In 2021, he was also seconded for a year to our London office.
Alexandre graduated magna cum laude from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), holds an LL.M from the New York University School of Law, where he specialised in international dispute resolution.
He was also previously a teaching assistant in international private law at ULB and is a regular speaker at conferences on international arbitration and anti-money laundering. He has also authored various publications on international arbitration, white-collar and ESG.
