Global law firm White & Case LLP has added a group of three top litigation partners to its New York office. The elite team is led by Jonathan Polkes, one of the United States' preeminent litigators who joins the Firm as Co-Head of its Global Litigation Practice, and includes Stacy Nettleton and Adam Banks.
"We're delighted to join forces with Jonathan, Stacy and Adam, all of them highly accomplished and formidable litigators," said White & Case Chair, Heather McDevitt. "Our strategic ambitions for US growth are grounded in adding exceptional talent that will flourish on our platform and this group is a natural fit, given they have worked on many of the most high-stakes matters in recent years. Their addition adds strength on strength to our disputes capabilities, and further positions White & Case as a powerhouse, with elite litigators representing top market participants on their most challenging matters."
Polkes is a first-chair trial lawyer, former federal prosecutor, Chambers USA Band 1-ranked lawyer and an American Lawyer "Litigator of the Year" winner. His experience chronicles major developments in the business world in bet-the-company securities, corporate and white collar disputes, as well as government and regulatory investigations. He joins White & Case from another leading law firm, where he was a management committee member and leader of its global litigation practice.
Polkes commented: "We're honored to be joining White & Case and are excited to collaborate with the Firm's outstanding team to enhance its litigation offering and broaden its power to represent clients across all of their complex securities and civil litigation matters in the US. We look forward to this next chapter to serve our clients from this outstanding platform."
The preeminent team joining Polkes includes:
- Stacy Nettleton – A seasoned securities, derivative and M&A litigator, who represents clients in complex, bet-the-company disputes in federal, state trial and appellate courts, as well as before arbitration panels. She also has extensive experience advising clients in government and regulatory investigations.
- Adam Banks – A sophisticated civil litigator and appellate specialist. His expertise spans complex business, antitrust, intellectual property and securities matters. He is a former clerk for Judge Marsha S. Berzon of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
"Jonathan and his team are elite litigators, revered in the market for their strong track record at trial and many successful outcomes for their clients," said Glenn Kurtz, Co-Head of White & Case's Global Litigation Practice. "Their innovative approach, reputation and work will further solidify our standing as a market-leading practice."
