White & Case Advises Sellagic Investments on Partnership with STOA S.A. to Expand Los Guzmancito Wind Farm in the Dominican Republic

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Sellagic Investments S.A.S., an investment vehicle for Grupo Energetico 23, in its sale to STOA S.A. of a 30% equity interest stake in Poseidon Energia Renovable, S.A. ('PER"), the owner, developer and operator of the “Los Guzmancito” wind farm power plant located in the municipality of Luperon in the Dominican Republic (the "Guzmancito Project").
The 48.3MW first phase of the Guzmancito Project was commissioned in December 2019, and its second phase, which will almost double its capacity, has recently commenced construction.
White & Case's involvement in the Guzmancito Project dates to 2018 with its representation of PER, in the drafting and negotiation of the turbine supply and operation and maintenance contracts with Vestas for phase 1 of the project. For the partnership with STOA and phase 2 of the Guzmancito Project, White & Case advised on the drafting and negotiation of the investment and shareholders’ agreements with STOA and the turbine supply, construction and operation and maintenance contracts.
The Guzmancito Project supports the Dominican Republic’s commitment to the development of renewable energy projects and grid stability.
