Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Open Fiber S.p.A., a wholesale-only operator on the Italian network infrastructures market founded to develop an ultra-broadband network entirely in Fiber To The Home optical fiber across Italy, on increasing its existing 2018 financing from €3.5 billion to €4.145 billion.
The financing includes the structuring of the operation and the preparation, negotiation and finalization of the related financial documentation. This is one of the largest finance operations aimed at developing a fiber-optic access network in the EMEA region.
The pool of banks included BNP Paribas, Société Générale, UniCredit, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, Banca Europea degli Investimenti, Intesa Sanpaolo, UBI Banca, Banco BPM, Bank of China, Banco Santander, Crédit Agricole, ING, MUFG, MPS Capital Services and NatWest.
The White & Case team which advised on the transaction comprised partners Iacopo Canino (Milan), Michael Immordino (Milan and London) and Ferigo Foscari (Milan), and associate Stefano Bellani and lawyers Nicole Paccara and Luca Misseroni (all Milan).
