Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Oatly and its shareholders Verlinvest and China Resources on the US$200 million equity investment in Oatly by a group of investors led by Blackstone Growth.
The investors include Oprah Winfrey, Natalie Portman, former Starbucks Corp. Chief Howard Schultz, Jay-Z-founded entertainment company Roc Nation, investment firm Orkila Capital and Rabo Corporate Investments, the investment arm of Rabobank. Founded in 1994, Oatly is a Sweden-based producer of plant-based, dairy-free food products, with products available in more than 50,000 locations in 20 countries. Oatly’s patented original oat milk created the fast-growing oat milk category and the company is a leader in the plant-based food space.
The White & Case team in Stockholm which advised on the transaction was led by partner Shoan Panahi and included partner Oscar Liljeson and associates Sebastian Wallin, Jonas Johansson, Alexander Berlin-Jarhamn, and Rebecka Tenenbaum.
