White & Case Advises Lenders on Refinancing and Upsizing for Odeon Cinemas Group

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised affiliates of Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., Centerbridge Partners, Cross Ocean Partners, Barings LLC and Canyon Partners, LLC on the refinancing and upsizing of the existing credit facilities of the Odeon Cinemas group, AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc's theatre-operating subsidiaries in the UK and continental Europe.
White & Case partner Shameer Shah, who co-led the Firm's deal team said: "The White & Case team has supported the lenders on an important financing transaction in the entertainment sector, which has been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic."
The new £400 million (or equivalent) financing will be used to refinance existing debt and provide liquidity to the cinema chain, which has suffered from depleted audiences during the coronavirus crisis.
Headquartered in the US, AMC is one of the world's premiere entertainment companies and the largest cinema chain in the world.
The White & Case team that advised on the transaction was led by partners Shameer Shah, Ben Davies (both London) and Michael Shepherd (Miami & New York) and included associates Yasmine El Kafsi, Sophie Riley, Prema Govind (all London) and Laura Femino (Miami).
