White & Case advises lenders to Lightsource bp on A$540 million green portfolio project financing for Australian solar farms

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, ING Bank (Australia) Limited, Mizuho Bank, Ltd, Nord/LB and Westpac Banking Corporation on the A$540 million green portfolio project financing of two Lightsource bp greenfield solar projects in Australia: the 425MWdc Wellington North solar project in New South Wales and the 90MWdc Wunghnu solar project in Victoria. 

"Achieving financial close on these two projects is a significant milestone for Lightsource bp's ongoing growth ambitions in Australia," said White & Case partner Cameron Watson, who led the Firm's deal team. "Lightsource bp has quickly become a leading solar developer and owner in Australia with their projects making a significant contribution to Australia's energy transition."

Together with their Wellington, West Wyalong and Woolooga solar projects on each of which White & Case also advised the lenders on the project financing, Lightsource bp now has more than 1GWdc of generating capacity in construction and operation in Australia, enough to power in excess of 350,000 Australian homes.
