Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. (JSW), the largest producer of hard coking coal in the EU and one of the leading producers of coke used for smelting steel, on an innovative financing under the Sustainability Linked Loan (SSL) formula.
The PLN 1.65 billion financing, which was provided by a consortium of banks and other financial institutions, is the first in the mining sector in Poland to use the SLL formula and one of the first in the sector in Central & Eastern Europe. It will support JSW’s continued growth, with a particular focus on its climate transition.
