White & Case advises Harith InfraCo on R6.5 billion acquisition of African infrastructure fund

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Harith InfraCo Limited on the acquisition of the Pan African Infrastructure Development Fund's interests in an infrastructure portfolio with significant stakes in assets across six Sub-Saharan African countries, for an aggregate consideration of R6.5 billion (US$360 million).
The transaction includes the acquisition by Harith InfraCo Limited of significant interests in the Anergi Group, a UK domiciled company which owns and operates power plants across sub-Saharan Africa, a significant indirect interest in Community Investment Ventures Holdings Proprietary Limited, a company which owns various assets in the telecommunications and information technology sectors, and Lanseria Holdings Proprietary Limited, the holding company of the Lanseria International Airport, as well as various other South African and African infrastructure assets.
The transaction also required the raising of equity capital from strategic equity investors and debt funding from a consortium of funders.
