Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) as senior investor on the securitisation of a non-performing loan portfolio of Lowell Danmark A/S (Lowell), one of the largest credit management services providers in Europe.
"This landmark transaction is being considered in the market as the first NPL securitisation in the Nordics as well as one of the first securitisation transactions in Denmark," said White & Case partner Dennis Heuer, who led the Firm's deal team. "It is an example of the regular advice we provide to financial institutions and credit management services providers on the securitisation of non-performing loan receivables."
As part of the transaction, HCOB will provide senior financing backed by a portfolio of Danish law governed non-performing claims originated by Nordic banks and acquired by Lowell, which is acting as the originator and servicer of the portfolio.
The White & Case team that advised on the transaction was led by partner Dennis Heuer (Frankfurt) and included partners Justin Jowitt, Tom Falkus and Ingrid York (all London), counsel Willem Van de Wiele (Brussels & Luxembourg) and associates Reetu Vishwakarma (Frankfurt) and Sara Ben Othmen (Brussels & Luxembourg).
