Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) on the development and project financing of the 67.8 MW Goonumbla Solar Farm in New South Wales.
"This is FRV's sixth solar project in Australia," said White & Case partner Brendan Quinn, who co-lead the deal team. "The project illustrates the continued lending appetite for renewables assets in Australia."
The Goonumbla Solar Farm is a 67.8 MW greenfield project located near Parkes in New South Wales. Upon completion, it is expected to produce approximately 195,000 MWh of clean energy per year and supply more than 45,000 Australian homes. The solar farm is one of eight wind and solar projects contracted by government-owned retailer Snowy Hydro in a major renewable energy tender last year.
The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partner Brendan Quinn (Melbourne) and local partner Mark Montag (Sydney), with support from counsels Candice Ota and Andrea Reeves (both Melbourne), and associates Hilary Cure, Barnaby Matthews, Alena Kosmin and Kirsten Sugden (all Melbourne), Ned Simpson (Hong Kong) and Chenez Dyer Bray (Tokyo). Allens advised the lenders.
