Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised the European Investment Fund (EIF) on the structuring of a platform for the securitization of receivables arising from loans granted to SMEs and mid-corporates, guaranteed by the Italian Central Guarantee Fund, for a total value of approximately €170 million.
This securitization platform has been developed by EIF, Gruppo MutuiOnline and Gruppo NSA, with the support of the Italian Central Guarantee Fund, and aims to facilitate access to loans to SMEs and mid-corporates. It is the first initiative of this kind carried out in Italy by specialised non-banking institutions with the involvement of EIF.
Société Générale acted as lead arranger, Intesa Sanpaolo (Divisione IMI Corporate & Investment Banking) CIB, Banca Akros (Banco BPM Group) and Banca Finint as co-arrangers, and Duomo Funding, Banco BPM (Institutional Division) and Société Générale as senior notes subscribers.
The White & Case team that advised on the transaction included partners Ingrid York (London) and Gianluca Fanti (Milan), local partner Francesco Scebba (Milan) and associate Salvia Matonyte (Dubai).
